Ask HN: Biggest non-tech scientific innovations of the 21st century?
The tech industry often dominates headlines here on HN, but what are the major scientific breakthroughs in other fields (biology, medicine, physics, chemistry, climate science, etc...) in the last two decades?
The obvious answers for big charismatic discoveries are Higgs Boson detection, gravity wave detection and CRISPR CAS. I'd love to hear about less widely known ones.
