Tell HN: ProtonVPN Partners with TorrentLeech
I just received the following email from TorrentLeech, a BitTorrent tracker for piracy. While I'm not all against piracy, I find pretty desperate that Proton partners with BitTorrent trackers to push its product.

I wouldn't read too much into it.
Just like how every other student startup is a Microsoft and/or Google "partner" by virtue of some program.
For all we know it's the usual affiliate deal.
Torrenters are probably the #1 customer for VPNs, so advertising in places that will reach those potential customers makes perfect sense, and not desperate at all IMO.
