There are two reasons I'd choose a MacBook Air over other ultrabooks. First and foremost, the MacBook Air is fanless. Second, there are silicon keyboard covers widely available to protect against dirt getting inside.
Both Asus and Dell seem to be marketing laptops to compete with the MacBook Air, but none of them have this feature combination that keeps the MacBook Air unique in 2025.
Only with the MacBook Air can you live in a house with six cats and be confident the laptop internals won't be full of fur / dander / dust after a year.

It's definitely an intriguing proposition.
It does fall somewhat short on screen & a little disappointed that it has a fan.
Fanless devices have a lot more longevity now that mechanical HDDs are not a thing.
But the price & upgradability gives it an edge over the Airs so it's a compromise either way.
